Tom & Lawrence’s incredible story started two years ago when Tom decided he wanted to do something epic and challenging to honour his wonderful father, and so Ocean Valour was born.

As a family we were hit by a thunderbolt when Luke was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and it was Neil & Angela Dickson founders of the Brain Tumour Charity who were there from day one supporting us through our very difficult & dark time and it was because of this amazing support that we had from Neil & Angela that Tom wanted other families to be helped by the charity.

Luke was larger than life itself, his great passion for sailing, his compassion for his fellow man, his perfectionism, and his love of his family made him the fantastic father that he was, and it was with this same passion that drove Tom to honour Luke by trying to raise £250k for the Brain Tumour Charity to help with early diagnosis and thereby help to prevent other families being destroyed.

Tom & Lawrence have offered up their lives in order to succeed in this amazing and incredible journey they have been on, they have defeated huge & frightening storms, capsized and been sucked into an eddy with no escape for 10 days, these remarkable boys, who will return men, deserve to see their dream fulfilled, Luke will be so proud as he watches their story come to an end.
