Earlier this morning Tom and Lawrence dipped inside the 200nm to go marker and are figuratively within sight of the finish of their epic row. After more than 3000nm rowed and nearly 3 months at sea since they departed from Manhattan, New York this news will be incredibly well received on the bright orange Ocean Row Boat Yves. This news also heralds a special point in the row as it gives those of us who have been watching from land a chance (finally) to get really involved and get ready to welcome these incredible record setting adventurers back home.
A giant welcoming party is being planned for their arrival and everyone is invited.
Below we have listed the team’s arrival dates with the chance that they will arrive on that day. The team will have to arrival on an incoming tide which allows us to be a little more specific about the time they will arrive although we recommend arriving at least 90 minutes prior to the arrival time shown in case the team row faster than expected.
Sunday 2nd August ~15:30 – 20% chance of arrival
Monday 3rd August ~16:00 – 60% chance of arrival
Tuesday 4th August ~16:30 – 15% chance of arrival
After 4th August ~ 10:30 onwards – 5% chance of arrival
The arrival celebrations will be centred around the Whitestrand Car Park, Salcombe (see the map below) parking will not be available so please park elsewhere and walk. For more information about the team’s arrival along with exact details please visit the Arrival page.
